The Smushy Face Masterclass is a small-group, in-person workshop focused entirely on grooming Persian and Exotic cats with NCGI Certifier and Instructor Lynn Paolillo.

This hands-on class is limited to just six attendees so we can spend the day working closely on the details that matter most: coat prep, drying technique, tear stain maintenance, face shaping, and the differences between pet and show grooming. You’ll watch full grooming demonstrations, see close-up face work, and get guided hands-on practice so you leave with skills you can immediately use in your salon.

Each attendee receives a curated workshop kit with recommended tools, products, printed resources, and some fun goodies. A light lunch is included, please let us know of any food allergies when you register.

What to Expect

This is a full-day, in-person workshop held at my salon, Cat Naps Cattery in Hamilton, New Jersey. Because this is a very small group, the day is designed to be interactive and flexible so we can adapt to the cats present and focus on what will be most helpful for attendees.

Topics covered throughout the day include:

  • Full Persian and Exotic groom demonstrations (bath and blow dry)

  • Coat prep strategies and product selection

  • Tear stain maintenance and client recommendations

  • Show grooming versus salon/pet grooming

  • Client education and marketing strategies to attract more Persians to your salon

  • Detailed face trimming skills lab with demonstration, instruction and practice on both model and (volunteer) Persians and Exotics

Location & Travel

The workshop is held at Cat Naps Cattery in Hamilton, NJ 08619.

For those traveling in:

  • Philadelphia Airport (PHL) and Newark Airport (EWR) are both within 45-60 minutes

  • The Hamilton NJ Transit train station is just a few minutes from the salon

  • Hotels and restaurants are within 10-15min driving distance
